ABSTRACT

The HTG was tested in a conventional equipment used for characterising all kinds of getters: the getter is submitted to a flow of inert gas containing a known concentration of H2 and the removed amounts of hydrogen are determined by means of a thermal conductivity cell. Getter properties are expressed in terms of maximum sorption rate (J.„ in mbar.ml/min.mg) and H2 capacity (Q in mbar.ml/mg). The results as established in the temperature range of 600-900°C are shown in Figs. 3 and 4 for J and Q, respectively. Measurements were conducted with a H2 pressure of 10 mbar over the getter.
