ABSTRACT
Since the discovery of the high pressure Sulfur (S7) discharge [1] the potential of diatomic molecular radiators for light generation is widely acknowledged. Starting from earlier investigations on GeSe ([2]) the diatomic compounds formed from the elements of group IV and VI of the periodic system were investigated with respect to their light generation properties.
