Stimulated emission of optically pumped CdxHg1-xTe films in the range 3-5 μm at 77 K

Stimulated and spontaneous emission from Cd_xHg_1-xTe structures are experimentally observed. Spectra of the radiation are measured at both nitrogen and room temperatures. A simple theoretical interpretation of the population inversion is presented in the framework of the effective parameters method.
