Measurements of magnetic-domain-wall velocity detected by local Hall effect

The velocity of a magnetic domain wall of approximately 250 m/s on a Ni₈₀Fe₂₀ micro-magnet has been obtained from time-domain measurements of single magnetization reversal events using the local Hall effect. This local-Hall-effect method has the advantages of millivolt large signal, independency from the shapes of micro-magnets, and flexibility in changing temperature.
