ABSTRACT
Various forms of laboratory automation have been used for many years to accelerate the drug discovery process. As with many technologies, there have been both successes and failures. However, the strategic importance to most organizations of accelerating the drug discovery process and the potential effect that automation can have on that objective, causes automation programs to be highly visible and highly leveraged.
