ABSTRACT
Adhesives and adhesion are very large subjects that are by no means restricted to polymers, although a great many adhesives are polymeric materials. There are numerous test methods for characterizing and measuring the performance of adhesives, but adhesives as a material type (even if restricted to polymeric adhesives) are outside of the scope of this book. Hence this chapter makes no attempt to cover the field in general but is restricted to the few adhesion tests that have been developed and standardized within the solid polymer industries.
