ABSTRACT

In thermal oxidation, initiation [Eq. (1)] results from the thermal dissociation of chemical bonds, whereas in photodegradation, photophysical processes, such as the formation of electronically excited species, energy-transfer processes, or direct photodissociation lead to bond cleavage. The wavelength of maximum sensitivity is 310 nm for PP (3).
