ABSTRACT

All thermoplastic polyamides are characterized by excellent toughness and flexibility at low temperature in the absence of plasticizer, low density, high dimensional stability, ease of conventional thermoplastic processing, good chemical resistance, good environmental stress cracking resistance, good elastic recovery, and good dynamic properties. The properties could be varied by variation of the block length and nature of the block (Bomschegel et al., 1985; Legge et al., 1987). In this chapter, the polyether block amide (PEBAX or VEST AMID) will be discussed first.
