ABSTRACT
This lecture will give an overview of the way fibres, derived from plants, have been used to reinforce cement based products. Time will be spent on explaining the unique structure of plant fibres, how they can be incorporated into existing processes for manufacturing fibre cement products, the properties of natural fibre reinforced cements, current usage and possible trends for the future.
