ABSTRACT

The deformation behaviour and strength of axially loaded fiber reinforced concrete columns casted with dolomite as coarse aggregate were investigated with special attention to their longitudinal deformations, cracking, ultimate load and mode of failure. Reinforced concrete columns casted with gravel were also tested for comparison. The main variables taken into consideration in this research were the longitudinal reinforcement, aggregates type and fiber content. Dolomite reinforced concrete columns showed higher initial cracking loads and ultimate strength than those casted with gravel.
