ABSTRACT
The purpose of this paper is to discuss research and application of a new load-carrying roof slab - GRC slab for net-worked roof which combine GRC material with prestressed steel reinforced concrete. The conventional GRC material can’t be used as load carrying member, so we carried our technical method on the basis of reinforcing low alkalinity cement with alkali-resistant glass fiber to improve the durability of GRC considerably and using prestressed steel reinforced concrete as rib for GRC slab to decrease volume around the rib and deadweight of slab. Comparing with the existing roof slab produced by conventional material, the GRC slab are excellent not only in physio-mechanical properties but also in technical economy. Furthermore, the paper have introduced the current applications of this slab in various large constructive engineerings.
