ABSTRACT

The behaviour and strength of steel reinforced concrete beams cast with fibrous concrete and exposed to fire are included. The main variables taken into consideration were the type of the used steel fibres, fibres content, the temperature of exposure, the temperature duration and the method of treatment after exposure to fire. The deflection, longitudinal strains, cracking, ultimate loads and mode of failure were recoreded. Reinforced concrete beams cast with ordinary concrete and exposed to the same conditions as the steel fibre reinforced concrete were also tested for comparison.
