ABSTRACT

This paper discusses the effect of polymer latex on mechanical, micro-structural and durable properties of glass fiber reinforced concrete (GRC). By SEM, XRD, TG, DTA and mechanical properties measurement, it is found that polymer latex can reduce the content of calcium hydroxide in the composite, retard the corrosion of glass fiber and improve the durability of lightweight GRC. At the same time, the strength of the composite is greatly improved due to the good adhesion, toughness and pore-filling ability of the polymer latex film.
