ABSTRACT
Abstract This paper discusses several methods for making simple field connections between HSS columns and either wide-flange or HSS beams. The connections are adaptations of standard field connections: pair of framing angles, single angle, tee stub, angle seat, shear tab and end plate. A testing program is currently in progress to determine if there are unique characteristics of the HSS column that influence the strength or the rotational properties of the connections as opposed to their use with wide-flange columns.
