ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION Architects and planners operate in a minefield of regulations-some clearly defined, and others either imprecise or even totally ambiguous. Building regulations are rarely overlooked, but the actual requirements of the end user may not be fully appreciated. In the case of multi-use stadia the problems may be more severe with different sports (and their governing bodies) having very different requirements particularly regarding scoreboards, prime seating positions and therefore sight lines.
