ABSTRACT
Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases have been studied intensively with respect to their mode of tRNA recognition and esterification reactions. Crystallographic structures have been determined for several synthetases. These topics have been reviewed extensively elsewhere (Carter, 1993; Cavarelli and Moras, 1993; Moras, 1992) and will only be briefly touched upon here.
