ABSTRACT

Extensive studies on crystal alignment in Bi-2212 by applying partial-melt precess have been conducted by the NRIM group. Asano et al. pointed out for the first time that a highly aligned Bi-2212 structure could be obtained along the silver-oxide interface by partialmelt and slow-cooling methods in silver-sheathed tape [9]. Kase et al. also verified that the well-aligned structure could be realized in doctor-bladed films or dip-coated films on silver substrates [10]. The fact that Bi-2212 can be prepared via the melting process may be considered to be very hopeful for higher reproducibility in conductor fabrication. However, various parameters must be controlled for this purpose, and some parameters which affect Jc are considered to be remained unknown.
