Pressure Isobars for Footings Pressure isobars of square, rectangular and circular footings may conveniently be used for determining vertical pressure, o"z' at any depth, z, below the base of the footings. The depths z from the ground surface, and the distance r (or x) from the center of the footing are expressed as a function of the width of the footing B. In the case of circular footing B represents the diameter.
