Fig. 13.10 gives the vertical strain influence factor I z distribution for both square and strip foundations if the ratio liB ~ 10. Values for rectangular foundations for LIB < 10 can be obtained by interpolation. The depths at which the maximum I z occurs may be calculated as follows(Fig 13.10),
