ABSTRACT
There are some fine grained soils that appear similar to clays but they cannot be rolled into threads so easily. Such materials are not really plastic. They may be just at the border line between plastic and non-plastic soils. In such soils, one finds the liquid limit practically identical with the plastic limit and Ip = O.
