I. The desired compound should be obtained in high enantiomeric and chemical yields.
II. The chiral product should be readily separable from any chiral auxiliary, chiral catalyst or chiral reagent.
III. The chiral auxiliary, catalyst or reagent should be recovered in good yield and undiminished chemical and chiral purity.
