ABSTRACT
In this chapter, two types of widely used mathematical models, the linear model and the dynamic system model will be discussed. We will present the canonical forms of these models as their concise mathematical abstraction. Both types of the models, usually in diversified forms, have found their wide uses in speech processing. Presenting these models in their unified, canonical forms will allow us to conduct mathematical treatment in a more concise manner than otherwise.
