ABSTRACT

Numerous unusual pulmonary problems can occasionally cause hemoptysis, including am yloidosis of the lung, broncholithiasis, endometriosis of the airway, foreign body, or septic pulmonary emboli. Broncholithiasis may present with the complaint of coughing up gritty, rock-like sputum. A chest roentgenogram or CT scan usually demonstrates calcified medi astinal and/or hilar lymph nodes.
