ABSTRACT
It is prolific in humid tropics and a very serious weed in plantation crops such as tea, coffee, pineapple, etc. I t also occurs in many annual crops in humid and high rainfall areas.
When well established, Paspalum is difficult to control by mechanical methods. Among the PRE herbicides, diuron, oxyfluorfen and methazole are more effective. A t POST paraquat gives immediate control of the weed, w i th regeneration occuring after 3 to 4 w k . Paraquat-diuron and paraquat-MSMA combinations are more effective than paraquat alone. Glyphosate gives excellent control of this perennial grass.
