ABSTRACT
Many bacterial pathogens share common mechanisms of interaction with their host cells. Distincts steps are essential for transmission of bacteria to the host, the adhesion to target tissue, the survival at the selected site, the colonization of the site and, under special circumstances, the invasion into cells.
