ABSTRACT
In Valle d'Aosta, north-west of Italy, a freeway from Aosta to the Monte Bianco tunnel is under construction. Due to the geomorphology they are excavating many tunnels using also blasts.
ENEA has been asked to evaluate the risk for some dwellings, mainly masonry type, associated with the use of blasting for the construction of the Chabodey tunnel.
