ABSTRACT
Cemented backfills are commonly used as local and regional stabilizing structures during mineral extraction, although, apparently little is known about their behaviour when subjected to dynamic loadings such as blasting. Physical model studies were carried out in the centrifuge on backfill with 3 percent of cement to observe the material behaviour under simulated ring blast loadings.
