Dynamic monitoring of large diameter driven piles, New Galata Bridge, Istanbul, Turkey

The new Galata Bridge is currently under construction in the historic centre of Istanbul and

will replace the existing floating bridge which was constructed in 1917.

The new bridge with an overall length of 470m will incorporate a four leaf bascule bridge

with a clear span of 80m and double decked insitu post-tensioned concrete approach spans.
