ABSTRACT
It can however be argued that there does not exist any unambiguous complete stress-strain curve, including the descsending branch. A descending branch always leads to an uneven strain, with a more or less pronounced strain localization. This has to be taken into account if the stress-strain relation should be properly understood and interpreted.
