ABSTRACT

III. PRODUCT DESIGN USING A MICROCONTROLLER In previous sections, we saw how microcontrollers are structured and how they differ from microprocessors. This section looks at designing a microcontroller and associated circuits for a target system. First, the process o f designing a circuit for a system is discussed. We then consider the base circuit which shows the min i mum components required to get a microcontroller up and running. Finally, the various types o f interfacing and devices that can be connected to a microcontroller are discussed. These are illustrated using example interface circuits that can be connected to various microcontrollers.
