ABSTRACT

After familiarizing the reader wi th the mathematical equality o f these two conceptually different modeling tools, our presentation w i l l be based on neural networks only. Following Section D , neural networks stand strictly for, or may be understood as neural networks, fuzzy logic, neuro-fiizzy or fuzzy-neuro models. The principal idea o f the whole o f Chapter 4 is that o f learning as a prerequisite for the control o f nonlinear systems. Whether the initial model o f both the controller and the plant being controlled resulted from a black, white or gray box is o f less importance. When adaptation starts, the mathematics behind such adaptation is the same for differently labeled models.
