ABSTRACT

We present in this paper a two-dimensional study of heat and mass transfer in a thick bed of granular products during drying. A mathematical model has been established and solved numerically by the method of the finite domains.

The numerical simulation has allowed us to determine the time-space evolution of the state variables ( solid temperature, gas temperature, moisture content). The transfer sensitivity to different parameters such as the heating flux, air velocity, and inlet air temperature is also studied.
