The identity period, Ic « 15.1 A, corresponds to a thickness for the intercalate of about 5 A. Although a tetrahedral environment of Ti4+ has been assumed by the au­ thors, these values could also correspond to a double-layered fluorine packing with Ti4+ in octahedral coordination.
