ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: The reclamation of Lake Fucino, an endorheic basin lacking natural outlets and the third largest lake in Italy (200 km2), was carried out in the 1800s through the construction of an artificial underground canal. This led to the complete and irreversible disappearance of the lake.
