ABSTRACT
Necrotizing fasciitis is a streptococcal or mixed infection of the soft tissues that ranges from a cellulitis to a serious myositis with necrosis. It occurs at the site of a laceration or surgical wound. It is accompanied by fever and other systemic symptoms.
