ABSTRACT
Trypanosomiasis is caused by flagellated protozoans of the gender Trypanosoma of which two forms are known: the American or Chagas' disease caused by T. cruzi and the African of which there are two varieties: T. brucei gambiense that causes the sleeping sickness in East Africa and T. brucei rodesiense in West Africa.
