Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS)

This is an acquired immune deficiency of CD4⁺ T cells. It is caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). It affects people of any age or sex, and it is manifested by a wasting syndrome, opportunistic infections and neoplasias.
