ABSTRACT

Clofazimine (Lamprene) is the prototype of riminophenazine antibiotics developed in 1957 (Cholo et al., 2012). The chemical name for clofazimine is 3-(p-choloroanilino)-10-(p-chlorophenyl)-2, 10-dihydro-2-isoprophyliminophenazine (molecular weight 473.4) with its chemical structure as shown in Figure 137.1, and is available in 50- or 100-mg capsules (Novartis Pharma, 2005).
