ABSTRACT

Biomarker discovery has become an important area of research with the advent of modern high throughput technologies in biology. A biomarker is a molecule or set of molecules that is found in the blood, other body fluids, or tissues that exhibits a distinct pattern of expression under certain conditions and can be used be used for a diagnostic or prognostic test [14]. Although biomarkers can be proteins, mRNA, or metabolites, we restrict ourselves to protein biomarkers.
