ABSTRACT

The basic concepts of chromaticity may be used for establishing operational characteristics for various monitoring applications. Such aspects may be considered in two respects:

(a) The manner in which chromatic processor characteristics may be changed and the effect of this on monitoring

(b) Treatment and use of discrete data sets

Processor characteristics considerations include the effects of the processor profile, extent of nonorthogonality, etc., on the output chromatic coordinates (H, L, S). It concerns the use of multiple processors in addition to the three (tristimulus) conventionally used. It addresses the question of optimum and maximum numbers for practical deployment. Adaptation of processors for 2-and 3-D monitoring in the space domain is also considered.
