ABSTRACT
The older population is increasing very rapidly in the western world. This fact leads to new requirements of lCT with the focus on HMI design for the elderly. In order to ensure the independence and quality of life of elderly citizens, it is important to remove obstacles and avoid hassles that prevent them from having optimal access to information technologies. The aim of the OASIS project is to support elderly people in their daily activities by a number of web based services. These services are interconnected using an open reference architecture and they will be available at diJTerent end devices like PC, PDA, and even mobile phone.
