ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT Global warming, along with the growing prices of traditional energy sources and the shortage of elI'inking water in the summertime, attracted the world attention to the problem of ecological as well as ergonomic and economical architecture, the problem which apparently has been noticed and even become trendy. In Poland people also want to live 'ecologically', which involves not only a heaithy diet or jogging, but also living, working and relaxing in ecological environment, i.e. in the environment characterized by a healthy micro - climate and the space adapted to the needs and aspirations of the inhabitants. In extreme situations, one can notice the phenomenon of escaping from civilization and so called 'return to nature' which often means just moving to the countryside. In architecture, this phenomenon is observed as a desire to build a new, artificial environment for a human in a balanced way, a home which is understood as being:

supplies from the outside, and not polluting the natural environment (with sewage)

• economical, which means cheaper than the existing building techniques.
