ABSTRACT
It was decided to adopt a ground freezing method among the various options of ground improvement methods for stabilizing the tunnel face. The purpose of the ground freezing is to stabilize water earing/mixed face ground by freezing the underground water in front of TBM cutter head for the regular maintenance of the machine, such as replacement of cutter bits and minor repair works.
