ABSTRACT
One of the main differences between ANSYS and SILO was the material model for the granular media. The Drucker-Prager elastoplastic criterion (Drucker & Prager, 1952) was used in ANSYS and the Kolymbas hypoplastic (Kolymbas, 1988) model was selected in SILO. Therefore, the comparison of results predicted by both models will allow studying the influence of the material model.
