Study of vibrated granular packings by X-ray tomography

It is known that if the ratio of the inner diameter over the particle diameter, D/d, is greater than 10 (McGeary 1961), the wall effect on average characteristics of the packing can be neglected. In our case, this ratio is equal to 21.8.
