ABSTRACT
In dry granular materials, the contact forces arising as a result of the external load are distributed in a very inhomogeneous fashion, forming a network of percolating force chains. These contact networks play an essential role both in quasi-static properties and flow behavior of dense granular media (Jaeger et al. 1996).
