All sphere packings discussed here will involve monosized spheres, but the method can be extended to spheres of different sizes.
2 DEFINITION OF THE STATISTIC
Construct a sample from a packing by choosing a point p and including all spheres whose centers lie within a distance R of p. The sample will be roughly spherical, and chosen so that no part intersects a boundary.
