The World Exposition 2010 will be held in Shanghai in year 2010. Its theme is so called “BETTER CITY, BETTER LIFE”. For the first time in the history using city as the theme, expresses the desire of all mankind seeking a better life in the future. The philosophies of building up a World Expo are such concepts as constructing a greenwood city, ecological city, digital city, gardening city, co-existing living city, information city and intelligent city. Meanwhile through comprehensive exchange among different points of views and among inter-acting sciences, the new concept and new knowledge as well as new technology of urban development will be enriched, and the urban function will be upgraded, the urban space enhanced. As a result, Shanghai’s urbanization will be promoted.
