Effort of submergence to decrement of shear strength for relatively a desiccated compacted soil

Subsequently, reduction in soil suction was achieved by increment of relative humidity. Suction was further reduced by submergence in water. Considerable reductions in shear strength were measured in this test. Experimental data sets are presented to compare the variations in shear strength before and after submergence.
