Chiufenerhshan landslide in Taiwan during 1999 Chi-Chi earthquake

ABSTRACT: The Chi-Chi earthquake with local magnitude of 7.3 struck Central Taiwan 1999, causing severe damages and extensive slope failures (NCREE, 2000). The Chiufenerhshan landslide was a large scale severe dip slope landslide among the landslide cases. The geological and geomorphollogical conditions and possible causes of the Chiufenerhshan landslide are discussed in this paper.
